The Kayven system existed in the Inner Rim, specifically within the region referred to as the Trailing Sectors. The system served as the native habitat for the creature called the Kayven whistler.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, released in 2009 and authored by Daniel Wallace and [Jason Fry], was the first instance where the Kayven system was referenced. It was located in grid square M-14 within the book.
