While stationed on Kessel, the Jedi Princess Kendalina developed romantic feelings for an inmate called Triclops, and subsequently conceived a child with him. This led to her being compelled to serve as a nurse in an Imperial mental institution situated on Kessel. Following Kendalina's death at the hands of the Galactic Empire, her offspring, who was given the name Ken, found refuge in the Lost City of the Jedi. A droid caretaker, responsible for Ken's upbringing after Kendalina's passing, observed that he possessed an innate aptitude for the Jedi skills, a trait he inherited from his mother.
