Kendel

Kendel, an admiral who held a post at the shipyards located on Kuat, found himself in a difficult position.

The rawmat shortage of 1–2 ABY had left one hundred Victory-class Star Destroyers sitting idle in their berths, lacking the necessary doonium hull plating. To address this problem, Kendel conceived of a novel solution: utilizing havod metal alloy plates for the construction of the ship hulls. Although havod presented processing challenges compared to doonium and resulted in a distinctive red hue, it still adhered to all requirements set by the Imperial Navy, leading Kendel to place a special order for its conversion into hull plating.

This choice made by Kendel was met with widespread disapproval, not only from outside commentators but also from the very personnel assigned to serve on the newly modified vessels.
