Kerts-Bhrg field generator

A Kerts-Bhrg field generator is shown in orbit. The Kerts-Bhrg generator was a sizable, cone-shaped device for power amplification. Its purpose was to project an energy field capable of withstanding the most extreme levels of stellar radiation.

Properties

When a central control generator was properly aligned with four similar units, they could produce a pyramid-shaped, three-dimensional force field. The force field's walls could endure temperatures exceeding 8,000 degrees. The radius of the projected field was adjustable, capable of expanding to encompass an entire star fleet.

Each generator included a maintenance station that housed base-mounted solar collectors. These collectors harnessed ultraviolet radiation from a nearby star. The central control generator, always situated at the pyramid's apex, had a thruster system to counteract the centrifugal force from a nearby star's gravitational pull. This enabled the Kerts-Bhrg generator to maintain a geosynchronous orbit within the star's corona.

Background

Shortly after the Rebel Alliance established its base on Arbra in 3 ABY, Princess Leia initiated the projection of a Kerts-Bhrg pyramid field around the entire fleet. This allowed their ships to effectively conceal themselves from Imperial forces by traversing the chromosphere of the Arbran sun.

However, within hours of the field's establishment, an absorption circuit on the central generator became overloaded, significantly reducing power to the field. Noxious fumes permeated the command station, incapacitating all maintenance personnel. C-3PO and R2-D2, unaffected by the fumes, were compelled to connect conduit cables between a Rebel ship and the control generator to stabilize the field's power fluctuations.

The Star Home utilized six Kerts-Bhrg generators.
