Kheilwar

The kheilwar, also referred to by other species as a Homunculus-wasp, was the designation used by the Defel to identify a diminutive, venomous insect that originated on their home planet of Af'El.

These insects were equipped with extremely sharp wings that functioned in a manner analogous to the Defel themselves, distorting light in their vicinity to achieve a kind of invisibility.

An even stranger employment of this capability was to seemingly morph into a 'duplicate' of any entity it had encountered, rendering it an ideal imitator. This enabled the kheilwar to blend into gatherings on densely populated planets without the worry of assault. Nevertheless, it appears that the organism predominantly utilized its powers during the nighttime hours, as typical sunlight had the potential to harm its sensory receptors.

As a result of these capabilities, assassins frequently exploited the creature by capturing the juveniles during their early stages. Once that phase of its life concluded, the Homonculus-wasp would swiftly develop to exceed twenty kilograms in mass and attain a stature of 1.5 meters or greater.
