The language spoken by the Khil people, who originated on the planet Belnar, was called Khilese. Almost all Khils were competent in both Khilese and Basic. The Khil created their unique languages by manipulating the fleshy strands, known as hullepi, that dangled from their faces, using air to resonate through hullepi of varying dimensions. This process resulted in a harmonious language that was pleasing to other species, yet impossible for them to replicate. The hullepi were not only used for communication, but also for other purposes. A written form of Khilese existed.
