Kip, the place of origin for the Kip species, existed as a planet situated within the Chorlian sector of the Outer Rim's. This planet was also known for its ulikuo gemstones. The planet was a moist, muddy world filled with many caves. Zorba Desilijic Tiure found himself incarcerated on Kip around 22 BBY, not long before the Clone Wars began. Following the Battle of Endor, specifically in 5 ABY, Ysanne Isard orchestrated a plan involving pirates to seize control of Kip and liberate Zorba. A year on Kip was approximately equivalent to three standard years.
