During the First Battle of Mon Calamari, the squadron engaged in their initial combat. As one of the pioneering E-wing squadrons within the New Republic Defense Fleet, Knave Squadron's pilots were part of the reinforcements dispatched from Pinnacle Base to Dac following the loss of the Star Destroyer called the Emancipator. Despite their courageous efforts, the squadron suffered losses, with several ships and pilots falling victim to the defensive firepower of the World Devastators.
