The people of Kodai, known as the Kodaians, originated from the world of Kodai. A catastrophic series of tidal floods, occurring centuries prior to 39 BBY, decimated their population. The majority of those who survived chose to leave their homeworld, fearing another such event. Those who stayed developed a deep distrust of outsiders, believing they could bring about further catastrophes on the planet.
Once every decade, the Kodaians would venture to the shores of their world to unearth relics from the past.
