Landing craft

A C-9979 landing craft, utilized by the Trade Federation. A landing craft is a type of starship that acted as a transport for military personnel and equipment, moving them between a capital ship and the surface of a planet. The number of beings that could be carried was determined by the craft's dimensions, which ranged from shuttle-sized to the size of a Corellian Corvette. These vehicles were typically used to deploy infantry soldiers, combat vehicles, and essential supplies to engage with the enemy on a planetary surface.

Many landing craft were equipped with only small, defensive blasters, or sometimes no weapons at all. However, the armor plating on these craft was usually very strong, designed to protect them from being destroyed before reaching their destination.
