Langer, a male inhabitant of the planet Tatooine, lived there in the initial years of the Galactic Empire's reign. Being related to Magda Ulbreck, Langer held a position as a security officer at the moisture farm owned by her husband, Wyle Ulbreck. Despite his skill as a marksman with a blaster rifle, Langer hadn't needed to use it for several years before the events of 19 BBY. In that particular year, while Langer was on duty guarding the Ulbreck residence, it faced an assault orchestrated by Orrin Gault, Mullen Gault, Veeka Gault and Jabe Calwell, who were posing as Tusken Raiders to coerce Wyle Ulbreck into supporting the Settlers' Call Fund. Although Langer issued a warning, he was incapacitated by the attackers before he had the opportunity to shoot. The Ulbrecks managed to evade the assault through the assistance of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the exiled Jedi Master.
