The Lawquane farmstead, a farm situated on the Outer Rim planet of Saleucami, was nestled within the world's wetlands. This was the residence of the Lawquane family, which included Cut Lawquane, a former clone trooper, along with his Twi'lek wife, Suu, and their two children, Shaeeah and Jek. Benefiting from fertile soil and favorable climate conditions, the farm yielded abundant harvests. Furthermore, the Lawquane farmstead served as the habitat for a collection of eopies, which the family bred for their milk and meat, and utilized as working animals. During the second year of the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems engaged in a battle that involved the farm and the Lawquane family, after an escape pod containing malfunctioning commando droids crash-landed in the adjacent fields. Cut Lawquane and his temporary guest, Captain Rex of the Clone forces, collaborated to fend off the battle droid commandos, thus safeguarding his family and shielding the farm from harm.
The principal structure of the Lawquane farmstead was the main farmhouse, a rather plain structure assembled from a combination of wood, salvaged starship components, and various other materials. A barn was situated nearby, serving as shelter for the farm's eopies, and an adjacent corral provided enclosure for the herd. The Lawquane family cultivated these resilient creatures for their milk, meat, and hides, while also employing them as beasts of burden for assorted tasks around the farm. The agricultural fields, where the family cultivated their crops, occupied the outermost sections of the farmstead, capitalizing on the rich soil and favorable climate found in Saleucami's wetland region.
After abandoning the Grand Army of the Republic following a devastating conflict with the Confederacy of Independent Systems over the planet of Saleucami, the former clone trooper known as Cut found love with a female Twi'lek named Suu Lawquane. The two entered into marriage, and Cut adopted Suu's two offspring, Shaeeah and Jek, thus establishing a family. Together, they established their home on the modest farm, where they prospered by cultivating crops and raising eopies. Distant from the active combat zones of the Clone Wars, the family relished the tranquil evenings that their farm provided.
Their peaceful existence was disrupted by the arrival of Confederacy forces under the command of General Grievous. Following a loss to the Republic's Clone Army in Saleucami's orbit, Grievous and his droids descended to the planet's surface via a number of escape pods. A severely damaged pod impacted the outskirts of the Lawquane farmstead, where Shaeeah Lawquane inadvertently activated it and its commando droid occupants. As the commando-series battle droids targeted the farmhouse, Cut armed himself with weapons to defend his family and property, aided by Captain CT-7567, known as "Rex". Rex, who had previously been injured by another commando droid, had sought refuge at the Lawquane farmstead while recuperating. Now facing an attack, the two clones engaged and neutralized the droids, ensuring the safety of Lawquane and his family, and preventing significant damage to the farmhouse. Rex departed from the farm the next morning to rejoin his unit, deciding not to report Cut Lawquane for desertion.
