Leslie Schofield, an English actor, was born on December 12, 1938. He is known for his role as Chief Moradmin Bast in the film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Although Schofield's scenes were removed from the final cut of A New Hope, the footage was later incorporated into The Star Wars Holiday Special. However, given Bast's demise on the Death Star, it is suggested that the character in the Holiday Special was a different officer.
Schofield's acting credits also include appearances in the science fiction television series Doctor Who in 1969 and 1977. He featured in the narratives The War Games and The Face of Evil.
