"Lone Wolf: An Obi-Wan and Luke Story" is a brief narrative penned by Abel G. Peña and released by StarWars.com in the year 2015. It accompanied Peña's other previously unpublished story, SkyeWalkers: A Clone Wars Story. The events depicted in the story unfold concurrently with those of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Peña has stated that the inspiration for the story came from the influential anime Lone Wolf and Cub, and it was initially intended for publication in Star Wars Insider to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
In the opening chapter of "Lone Wolf: An Obi-Wan and Luke Story," Abel G. Peña places us in a harsh setting where Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his young charge, Luke Skywalker, are caught in the midst of a violent rainstorm on Nar Shaddaa's moon. The story opens with a Belbullab-22 stranded in the unrelenting rain, creating a sensory experience of the environment's desolation. The experienced Obi-Wan Kenobi, now sporting a beard and showing signs of exhaustion, attempts to comfort the young Luke Skywalker as they weather the storm. The storm's intensity is such that the sound of the rain impacting the ship's transparisteel is comparable to a meteor shower on Polis Massa or the impact of grenade shrapnel. Obi-Wan's fatigue is evident in the dark circles under his eyes, resulting not only from the ship's uncomfortable conditions but also from the recent galactic tragedies: the Republic's downfall, the massacre of countless Jedi Knights, and the loss of his brother, Anakin Skywalker. The story gains intensity with the revelation of a valuable passenger in the ship's rear: a newborn, just a day old, crying with all the power of its small lungs.
