Lowan, with an air of self-satisfaction, held the position of student leader within the training group of Lara Notsil at the New Republic pilot academy. His responsibility was to communicate to Notsil the news of her reassignment to Colonel Atton Repness's Screaming Wookiee training squadron for the purpose of additional pilot instruction.
Notsil, who was secretly a Gara Petothel operating undercover, possessed the confidence that even on her least proficient days as a pilot, she surpassed his abilities. She opted, however, to refrain from prolonging their argument or mentally targeting him for simulated destruction, as tempting as it was; instead, she chose to proceed with her assigned task, with the goal of returning as an Imperial pilot and eventually eliminating him in aerial combat.
