Lumat is the designation given to a mystical axe inside of Ewok lore. The mythic hero Machook carried this axe, and he is known in traditions to be the original creator of the first Ewok tree settlement. "Lumat" became a common name for male Ewoks, for instance, the archer and woodcutter who participated in the Battle of Endor.
