Makara was the sister of Oskara, and a Twi'lek who was female.
Hailing from the planet of Ryloth, Makara was the sibling of Oskara. After being seized by Aqualish criminals for labor in the Ryll spice production facilities, Oskara volunteered to serve the gang leader, presenting herself as a "seasoned bounty hunter." Her initial assignment proved successful, leading to mentorship under Gyax, a seasoned hunter. To ensure her sister's protection, Oskara remained in the employ of the spice mine syndicate.
