Mark Budz


Mark Budz, an author from the United States, specializes in science fiction. He collaborated with Marina Fitch on Let Us Prey: The Whiphid's Tale which appeared in Tales from Jabba's Palace.

Early life

Born in Cherry Hills, New Jersey, on November 1, 1960, Budz spent his childhood moving frequently due to his father's employment with the National Park Service. He earned a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1982. Following graduation, Mark held various positions, including sales for ITT Bell & Gossett, retail, reading for a small press, and technical support. At present, Mark works as a technical writer for a software business located near Silicon Valley.

During the latter part of the 1980s, Mark relocated to Eugene, Oregon, with the goal of becoming a full-time author, initially focusing on short stories. Despite his initial struggles with short stories, he shifted his focus to novels, resulting in his debut novel, Clade, in 2003. He later released other novels, including Crache and Idolon.

He encountered Marina Fitch, who would later become his wife, in 1991, and in 1992, they relocated to Watsonville, California.
