Masher was a mimph of the male persuasion, hailing from the Forest Moon of Endor. In the year 3 ABY, this mimph headed up a hunting expedition. This team managed to ensnare the Ewok known as Wicket Wystri Warrick, who was found in an unconscious state due to an encounter with a beast called a hanadak. Masher and his fellow hunters then transported Warrick back to their village. Later, the village fell under attack by the very same hanadak. In the ensuing battle, Warrick stepped in and rescued Masher, along with the rest of the hunting party, from certain doom. As a token of their gratitude, Masher gifted the Ewok a tooth that had been previously lost by his mimph companion, Thrasher.
Masher, a male mimph native to the Forest Moon of Endor, resided in a village situated near a river, not too distant from the Ewoks' famed Bright Tree Village. During 3 ABY, Masher took the lead of a hunting party that ventured to the river. It was there that they stumbled upon the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick, who was lying unconscious after a confrontation with a hanadak. While Warrick was out cold, Masher, along with his team which included Smasher, Thrasher, and another unnamed mimph, bound him with rope and placed him on a wheeled contraption. Upon Warrick's awakening, Masher and the others hauled him back to their village, concealing him behind a curtain as the other mimphs gathered in anticipation.
When the curtain was dramatically pulled aside, revealing Warrick, Masher requested that the Ewok let out a roar for the assembled crowd. Instead, Warrick quietly muttered the Ewokese curse word, "kvark," to himself. The excited mimphs echoed the word loudly, which inadvertently attracted the attention of the nearby hanadak. The creature proceeded to rampage through the village, wreaking havoc on several mimph homes and structures. In an attempt to subdue the beast, Masher commanded his team to attack, and they all leaped onto its massive leg. However, the hanadak remained unfazed, casually swatting the small mimphs aside.
Warrick, concerned about the mimphs' well-being, broke free from his restraints and managed to catch the mimphs before they could hit the ground. He then utilized the curtain to blindfold the hanadak, causing it to stumble into the river. Warrick expressed his disappointment at missing the chance to obtain a fang from the hanadak for his Belt of Honor. Subsequently, after a hushed discussion among themselves, the grateful Masher presented Warrick with a mimph tooth, which Thrasher had lost during a previous scuffle.
As is characteristic of mimphs, Masher was of diminutive size—measurably under 0.8 meters in height—and possessed white eyes with black pupils, and pinkish fur, highlighted by a small patch of white fur adorning his chin. Similar to many mimphs, Masher sported a red cap, uniquely distinguished by two small, white horns projecting from its top.
Despite his small stature, Masher exhibited great courage, displaying pride when faced with danger. He showed no fear in capturing creatures far larger than himself and did not hesitate to defend his village against the monstrous hanadak. He cared about the opinions of others, hoping to impress the mimph village by getting the captured Warrick to roar. However, he was also quite kind, as evidenced by his offering Warrick a mimph tooth as a trophy after the young Ewok saved his life.

Masher's debut occurred in "Gone With the Mimphs," which was the ninth episode within the second season of the Ewoks animated series. "Gone With the Mimphs," penned by Linda Woolverton, was initially broadcast on October 18, 1986. Although his name wasn't explicitly mentioned in the episode, an animation celluloid used in the episode disclosed Masher's identity.
