Masi Qual was a Bothan of the female persuasion who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic with the Rank of Lieutenant. Growing up in affluence on Coruscant, Qual, known for her haughty and sanctimonious attitude, came from a privileged background. The rise of the Empire and the subsequent surge in anti-alien prejudice forced Qual's family to evacuate Coruscant. Her father frequently voiced his grievances regarding the Empire and the decline in their family's status following their departure from Coruscant. This instilled in Qual a profound animosity towards the Empire, ultimately leading her to enlist in the Rebellion. Following confirmation of a mole within the Alliance, she was suspected of plotting against it.
