Metalmites, tiny insect-like entities, possessed a unique composition, being constructed predominantly from metallic elements.
Operating in coordinated groups under the direction of a queen or empress, these Metalmites were capable of completely destroying entire facilities. They employed potent bio-enzymes to break down unrefined metals, which they then ingested. It's believed that the metals they consumed were integrated into their physical structure, potentially accounting for their metallic nature. The presence of Metalmite swarms was frequently signaled by a distinctive, loud humming sound, with variations in pitch indicating different swarm lineages. Conflict between these different lineages was a frequent occurrence.
The elimination of Metalmites presented a significant challenge, as standard pest control methods proved ineffective against them. Consequently, their eradication typically necessitated the use of cordioline trehansicol, also referred to as CorTrehan.
