MG1-A proton torpedo

The MG1-A represented a novel form of proton torpedo. At the time of the Battle of Praesitlyn, it was a recent innovation that had not yet seen action. The Ranger, a Centax-class heavy frigate, carried two MG1-A torpedo batteries, making it the pioneering vessel to utilize them in a combat scenario. During the initial moments of the engagement over Praesitlyn, the Ranger launched a volley of these torpedoes at a Separatist Droid Control ship that was disrupting communications, achieving a successful destruction of the designated target.

MG1-A torpedoes possessed a functional range of three thousand kilometers. Their speed during flight was twenty thousand kilometers per hour, measured in relation to the ship that launched them. These weapons were resistant to the effects of the majority of energy fields, and their guidance systems could be disabled, enabling their deployment as direct-fire, unguided projectiles.
