Michael Arndt


Michael Arndt, a screenwriter from America, is most recognized for his screenwriting work on movies like Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Toy Story 3 (2010), and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013). His contributions to Little Miss Sunshine earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, and he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay due to his work on Toy Story 3.

On November 9 in 2012, Disney Studios officially announced that Arndt had been chosen by them and Lucasfilm to pen the screenplay for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens around the start of 2013. A fifty-page preliminary script for the movie was authored by Arndt. He conceived the idea of postponing Luke Skywalker's training of Rey, which was initially planned for The Force Awakens, until Episode VIII.
