A naval military rank of flag officer status, known as Mid Admiral, was employed within the hierarchy of the Chiss Ascendancy. This rank sat in the order of precedence higher than Mid General, but lower than a full general.
The rank designation Mid Admiral initially appeared in the 2020 publication Thrawn Ascendancy: Greater Good. It is the second book within Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy, authored by Timothy Zahn.
