The Midsummer was a frigate that belonged to the Xodlak family of the Chiss Ascendancy. It was part of their planetary defense fleet. However, it was left on the planet's surface, where it fell into disrepair and was ultimately deserted. When the Xodlak family announced a state of emergency, the Midsummer was brought back online. This allowed them to mobilize their private military and summon family members from the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet to crew their starships. These ships were then deployed to a Nyix mine that was the property of the Agbui. Subsequently, the Midsummer became the command flagship for Task Force Xodlak, with Senior Captain Irizi'in'daro in command.
