Military revolt on Coruscant

A military uprising was masterminded by Headmaster Gentis on Coruscant during his attempted coup. For a short duration, Gentis was successful in seizing control of Coruscant, but he was defeated soon after.

Prelude

Despite the conclusion of the Clone Wars, the Emperor's Palpatine's insatiable desire for war continued to cause the deaths of numerous Imperial soldiers. This reality motivated Gentis, the Headmaster of the Imperial Academy, to initiate a coup. His objective was to assassinate the Sith Lord and put an end to the relentless bloodshed that had claimed the lives of all but one of his sons. Leveraging his influential position, the Headmaster launched his assault on the very night of the first graduating class of Imperial officers.

Revolt

Explosions reverberated across the cityscape for kilometers, swiftly eliminating seventy-two Imperial targets within mere minutes. The officer's club, various Stormtrooper outposts, the Comm Towers, and a supply depot were all obliterated. Imperial Plaza became the epicenter of the ensuing conflict, as "terrorist" factions flooded the city streets, engaging in combat with the Empire's clone forces. The stormtroopers were on the verge of defeat until the arrival of the "Warlock," Supreme Commander Darth Vader, who inspired the troops and pushed back the opposing forces. Amidst the chaos, Tohm managed to escape from the prototype starfighter by activating its ejection seat, landing directly into the heart of the battle. Tohm joined the stormtroopers in their pursuit of Vader, but when one of the terrorists grabbed his ankle, he knelt down and removed the man's mask, revealing his friend Shens. Shens pleaded with Tohm to assist them in assassinating Palpatine, who was the primary target of their assassination attempts that night.

Palpatine escaped to a hidden Jedi prison, the Prism.

As Shens was dying, he then implored Tohm to assassinate Vader, but Tohm responded by saying that his friend should have involved him sooner, and then shot Shens in the head. The lieutenant then paid his respects to the Dark Lord of the Sith, who immediately admired his courage and dedication. As they departed the plaza, another explosion ripped through the nearby structures, releasing a potent necrotic virus known as Aorth-6. Numerous Imperials, including Royal Guardsmen, perished from the aerosolized virus, which caused their internal organs to dissolve. Lieutenant Tohm put on a breathing apparatus that he had retrieved from the TIE fighter upon ejection and accompanied Lord Vader inside. There, they discovered a fatally infected Emperor Palpatine and Moff Trachta. Palpatine was utilizing the dark side of the Force to resist the virus, but he was losing the fight despite his immense abilities. Vader accused Trachta of involvement in the conspiracy, but the Moff vehemently denied it, asserting that they needed to conceal the Emperor, as the fear of his power was the only thing maintaining the Empire's cohesion. The trio escorted the sovereign to a clandestine hangar beneath the Imperial Palace, where they boarded him onto a stealth transport.
