Mining droids, which possessed significant armor plating, were employed for extraction activities throughout the time of the Age of the Empire. These droids, built with thick plating, could withstand high temperatures and function in hazardous environments. The production of these mining drones was undertaken by Baron Lero Danthe's enterprise. In the aftermath of the Gorse Conflict, mining drones were deployed to excavate thorilide from the solar-facing surface of Gorse.
