Around 1 BBY, Tyber Zann and his Zann Consortium initiated a piracy operation: the abduction of the Supreme Strategist from orbit above Mandalore. Concealed within an asteroid field surrounding the planet, Consortium starfighters ambushed and eliminated the Mandalorian V-wings that were stationed there. Subsequently, upon the arrival of the Supreme Strategist aboard a Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Consortium's ships annihilated its protective fleet, stormed the vessel, and successfully seized their target.
