MK.IV Fire Control System

The MK.IV Fire Control System, which is also referred to as the MK.IV FCS, represented a specific kind of targeting computer.

This advanced Mk.IV fire control system integrates all of a vessel's armaments, encompassing both fixed weapons and turrets, thereby enabling the pilot to discharge them all with a singular trigger action. The system's complexity allowed the pilot to primarily concentrate on piloting, as the fire control system managed the targeting of individual weapons, thus handling the bulk of the work. The system, which could be toggled on and off with a button, presented a tradeoff between its adaptability and user-friendliness and a significant vulnerability: since all weapon controls were channeled via the FCS, an ion cannon strike while the system was active would result in the simultaneous disabling of all weapons.

Bounty hunters frequently employed the MK.IV, and it was standard equipment on the Lancer-class pursuit craft.
