Mole creatures, a name given to them by C-3PO, were sentient moles that inhabited the subterranean regions of Tatooine.
From time to time, inhabitants of the surface world would plummet through the ground and end up within the tunnel systems of the mole creatures. These beings who suffered such misfortune would then become food for Gotar, the acid lizard.
