Murrtaggh

Murrtaggh was a distinguished Jedi Master belonging to the Jedi Order. He was active during the tumultuous era of the New Sith Wars, specifically between 2000 BBY and 1000 BBY. Notably, he once orchestrated a strategic agreement with mercenaries from the Mandalorian warrior culture. These mercenaries were contracted to launch a calculated diversion against the encampment of the Dark Underlord, a shadowy and potent figure heading the New Sith. The New Sith at that point represented the current iteration of the Sith, who were the ideological opposites to the Jedi. During the battle that unfolded in 1750 BBY on the planet Malrev IV situated in the Outer Rim Territories, Murrtaggh infiltrated the Dark Underlord's stronghold and assassinated the Sith leader. However, this act led to his own descent into the dark side of the Force. Later, during the time of the reign of the Galactic Empire, which was more than a millennium afterwards, the story of Murrtaggh and the Dark Underlord was preserved in a narrative recited by a Bimm bard. This bard's collection of stories and songs primarily revolved around the brave deeds of the Jedi.

Behind the scenes

The character of Murrtaggh was initially introduced in the 1995 sourcebook titled Heroes & Rogues. This book was written by Rick Stuart and Paul Sudlow and was published for use alongside Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games.
