The MVR-3 speeder bike represented a military-grade speeder bike utilized by both the Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems throughout the Clone Wars. Its design predated the widespread standardization of speeder bike aesthetics, resulting in a unique appearance compared to most speeder bikes. Notable features included a sizable, streamlined tail section that contained the repulsorlifts and turbothrust engines, along with an integrated storage compartment. The extended tail contributed to enhanced stability. Military models were equipped with a small blaster affixed to the front.
Incom Corporation produced this speeder bike, while the Xi Char engineered hydrodynamic adaptor kits for the Trade Federation, addressing design shortcomings present in the Manta droid subfighter. A water-based version of this vehicle was deployed during the Battle of Mon Calamari.
The design of the MVR-3, specifically the elongated tail and upward-curving bow, bore a striking resemblance to the Razalon FC-20 speeder bike, famously associated with Darth Maul, as well as the Flitknot speeder crafted by the Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective.
