The Natalon Core Bandits represented a merciless organization of alien pirates that operated with considerable notoriety in the initial period of the Galactic Empire.
During one instance, Han Solo and Chewbacca found themselves under attack by eight Natalon Core Bandits while transporting a shipment of Barcarian claw salt. Despite Chewbacca's success in neutralizing three of the attackers, the bandits inflicted significant damage to the ship, confined the two smugglers within the salvage hold using restraints, and disabled the vessel's life support systems. Chewbacca, in an act of desperation, fractured his own wrist to escape the shackles, subsequently restored the life support functionality, and piloted the crippled vessel to a nearby space station.
