The Nepherides were individuals who studied at and belonged to a dark side academy situated on Byss. These Force-sensitive individuals were trained as assassins for the Galactic Empire. A common practice was to wear a plait, and their teeth were modified to resemble fangs. Certain fangs were hollow, housing poison capsules, rendering their bites deadly.
Frequently, Nepherides, skilled in Force drain and concealing themselves using the Force, would hunt Jedi to steal their energy.
Those belonging to this academy developed a deep loyalty to the Byss Imperial court, aspiring to join the ranks of the Emperor's Royal Guard.
Patrick Bousquet and Christophe Debien conceived the Nepherides for a canon questionable roleplaying Gamemaster guide featured in the French publication Casus Belli 90. Eric Puech supplied the sole illustration.
