New Calamar, alternatively spelled Camalar, existed as a city located on the southern continent of the planet Esseles. This city received its name from Calamar, the capital city of Esseles. The Empire's Terril Naval Base was situated in New Calamar.
During a performance in Camalar by the Jatz artist Fitz Roi, his choice to dress as a Jedi Knight almost resulted in Flangth-2-Go, his sponsor, terminating their agreement.
