Nightshadow anti-sensor treatment, a product of Arakyd Industries, was engineered as a coating for the hull of a spaceship. Its purpose was to provide stealth capabilities by preventing sensor detection. This specialized coating worked by confusing sensors, but its effectiveness was limited by the ship's speed; excessive velocity and the resulting engine emissions would counteract the sensor-baffling properties. Beyond starship hulls, nightshadow was also applicable as a lining for smuggling compartments to shield illicit cargo from scanning.
