The Nikto Sector existed on Nar Shaddaa as early as the Cold War era. Nikto enforcers, searching for employment with the Hutt Cartel, found Nar Shaddaa to be a desirable place to work. This area, once without a name, initially served as a place of arrival for Nikto warriors, but it was officially named in their honor when Horoth Gendi cleverly used violence to protect his Hutt master's life and enterprise. Consequently, the Nikto Sector was given to the Nikto warrior as a prize for his bravery.
Subsequently, Gendi capitalized on this chance to establish his own organization, ultimately liberating himself from serving those more powerful than him. From then on, the Nikto Sector transformed into a section of Nar Shaddaa that was governed by a series of Nikto gangs, each vying for the largest share of the planet's criminal activities. The Kintan Kings, a particularly strong gang, were among the most recent to control the sector during the Cold War.
