Nivek, alternatively referred to as Night Planet, existed as a planet within the Expansion Region. Its designation as a "night planet" stemmed from the constant darkness that enveloped its terrain.
The Shadowmen resided on Nivek, and they held allegiance to the Separatist faction throughout the Clone Wars. Around five months following the First Battle of Geonosis, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight, and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, embarked on a mission to Nivek. They narrowly avoided defeat at the hands of the formidable and well-armed inhabitants. Nevertheless, they successfully discovered and demolished a Separatist manufacturing facility on the planet before making their escape.
