The religious settlement called The Oasis, or simply "Oasis", was a Dim-U community located in the heart of Tatooine's desert, a considerable distance from any major urban centers.
Oasis was made up of several uniquely Tatooinian homes along with multiple moisture farming operations.
The residents of Oasis were known for their kindness and trust, readily offering hospitality to those traveling through the desert. They welcomed visitors without interrogation, providing them with sustenance, beverages, and music. They held the Sand People in high regard due to their shared bond with the bantha, an animal considered sacred by the Dim-U. Banthas were a common sight in the streets, often serving as playthings for the local children.
During 0 ABY, Jodo Kast, accompanied by a team of mercenaries, arrived at Oasis seeking details about Adar Tallon. Frustrated by the lack of information, Kast was banished from the settlement along with his crew by Dryon, the high priest of Oasis, who believed anger was contrary to the way of the bantha. Later, Kast's associate, Zardra, returned to assault the village in an attempt to extract information, but she was driven back by a group of Rebel Alliance soldiers who had arrived in the village in the interim.
