Onnelly Praji

title: Onnelly Praji

Onnelly Praji's father was Tannon Praji, who held the position of First Minister within the Coruscant Ministry of Ingress. During 19 BBY, she and her family were scheduled to be moved to the "Emerald Splendor Estates" located on the planet of Byss for a short time, as part of a new colonization program. While getting ready for this move, Onnelly encountered Jodd Sonta, a member of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order's Sub-Adult Group. She later saw Sonta again just as her transport was about to leave for Byss. Sonta, who was actually the Jedi fugitive Jedi Drake Lo'gaan, warned her that the transport was actually a slave ship. Ignoring his warning, Onnelly traveled to Byss with her family, where Emperor [Palpatine](/article/palpatine/legends], who used the world as a personal sanctuary, gradually drained her Force energy.

Biography

Onnelly Praji, a Human female, was born to Tannon and Maree Praji, who were members of the powerful House Praji. Tannon was the First Minister of the Coruscant Ministry of Ingress, the organization responsible for managing immigration and emigration in the galactic capital of Coruscant. In 19 BBY, following the rise of the Galactic Empire, Tannon took a leave of absence from his position to assist in relocating Onnelly and Maree to the "Emerald Splendor Estates" on the Deep Core world of Byss. This relocation was part of a larger "recolonization effort" designed to attract wealthy and influential individuals. Despite this, Onnelly believed their stay would only last about a month. Prior to their departure, Onnelly went to transport platform DN6-4435 to help load her family's luggage onto the craft headed for "Emerald Splendor."

Onnelly gives Sonta a kiss.

Onnelly was struggling with the bag's repulsors and asked a passing young boy from the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order's Sub-Adult Group for assistance. The boy agreed and began carrying all the bags at once by himself. As they talked, Onnelly inquired about his family, only to learn that they had perished in the Clone Wars, a major galactic war fought between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The boy said he had joined COMPNOR for the credits, hoping to find out if any of his family had survived. After he finished loading the bags, Onnelly introduced herself, and the boy identified himself as Jodd Sonta, though he seemed hesitant. Onnelly noticed this hesitation but ignored it, giving Sonta a kiss on the cheek before leaving.

Sonta informs Onnelly.

As the transport prepared for departure, Sonta approached Onnelly again, this time wearing battle armor. He quickly informed her that the belongings of the non-Humans on board were being destroyed, and the Imperials would not allow anyone to disembark. Sonta tried to lead her off the transport, but Onnelly resisted, not understanding. He bluntly explained that the transport was a slave ship, and Onnelly was unlikely to ever return from "Emerald Splendor." Just then, Inquisitor Antinnis Tremayne, accompanied by stormtroopers, entered the room to arrest Sonta. The boy was actually a Jedi, Drake Lo'gaan, who had survived the Jedi purge of Order 66 and was working undercover. In response to Tremayne's arrival, Lo'gaan used his lightsaber to break open a nearby window and jumped off the transport.

Despite Lo'gaan's warning, Onnelly went with her family to "Emerald Splendor." In reality, the world served as Emperor Palpatine's personal retreat. While there, Onnelly, Maree, and others were entertained, unaware that Palpatine was secretly draining their Force energy to sustain himself.

Personality and traits

Onnelly Praji, with her black hair, was willing to perform manual labor, like loading luggage, but needed repulsorlift technology to do so. She depended on her father's wealth to provide for her needs and expected this support when her own resources failed. Onnelly also displayed flirtatious behavior during her encounter with Drake Lo'gaan; Lo'gaan, trained as a Jedi, found it difficult to resist forming a relationship with her.

Behind the scenes

Onnelly Praji made her debut in the Paul Ens web strip Evasive Action: Recruitment as a minor supporting character. Her connection to Tannon Praji, another Star Wars character, was established in the article Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji.
