High Council holomap room
The High Council holomap room, situated inside the High Council Tower of the Jedi Temple located on the planet Coruscant, contained a large holo-map of the galaxy. This map displayed galaxy-wide hotspots, such as disturbances in the Force and areas of unusual Force concentration. Surrounding the room were the Contemplation Stations, where Jedi of high rank received mission briefings.
Description
This room was positioned on the second-highest level of the Jedi Temple's High Council Tower, just beneath the High Council Chamber. It included an interior balcony adorned with mosaics featuring a flower design, overlooking a large pit. This pit housed a substantial holo-map of the galaxy. A small amphitheater offered a closer view of different areas of the holo-map, and an external staircase descended to the lower levels where the holoprojector array was situated.
Holo-map
The Jedi Order utilized the holomap to pinpoint disturbances in the Force and areas of unusual Force concentration. Therefore, it required constant updates based on newly acquired information from across the galaxy in real-time. To accomplish this, it functioned in conjunction with five powerful antennae located atop the High Council tower. These antennae received data at various frequencies and transmitted it to a multi-feed receiver assembly, which then fed the data into the holomap. The receiver, installed beneath the High Council chamber's floor, transformed the raw antenna data into holodata, enabling the holoprojector unit to update the map whenever fresh information came to light.
To further aid the Jedi in accurately locating hotspots, a series of receiver vanes integrated into the holomap room's walls were configured to convert signals from hyperspace into realspace coordinates. Six signal eradicators connected to the vanes disrupted enemy attempts to exploit the system and determine the location of Jedi in the field by targeting their communications with the Temple.
