Its purpose was to mend damaged spacecraft and function as off-mission drydocks. Following the Battle of Endor, the Imperial Fleet tried utilizing these satellites to facilitate repairs and reorganize at Kuat's Imperial shipyards. However, they were disrupted by the pursuing Rebel Fleet and the invading Zann Consortium Fleet, which led to the Battle for the Eclipse. The Alliance Fleet leveraged these satellites through the Mon Calamari Orbital Shipyards.
