PAC20 Visual Wrist Comm
The PAC20 Visual Wrist Comm, a product of Fabritech, was a comlink designed to be worn on the wrist. Notably, the smuggler Dash Rendar utilized this particular model.
Description
Fabritech engineered the PAC20 Visual Wrist Comm to incorporate both the audio capabilities of a typical comlink and a screen for displaying video transmissions and data. Its design featured a flat, rectangular form factor, allowing for simple attachment to gloves or any flat surface. Although it could display holoimage data, it was limited to two-dimensional images.
The PAC20 could also serve as a rudimentary datapad, with the ability to store and receive data. The integrated computer within the PAC20 facilitated connections between the comlink and either a datapad or a droid. Its internal power cell provided a broadcast range extending up to seventy-five kilometers, and reaching most standard planetary orbits. This power cell required replacement after ten days of continuous use.
History
Dash Rendar, a known smuggler, employed the PAC20. Its popularity stemmed from its utility among smugglers and soldiers who needed visual confirmation of their contacts. Furthermore, it offered the advantage of hands-free operation.
