Palpatine's Statue Garden, situated within the Republic Executive Building, was an outdoor area where the Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine, showcased several stone statues. This garden was positioned on a sizable balcony, located on one of the executive building's higher floors.
In the year 20 BBY, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker paid a visit to Chancellor Palpatine while he was alone in the garden. The Chancellor then told the young Jedi that he had arrived a few hours early for a Senate War Rally. Anakin responded that he would be unable to attend because he had been summoned to assist a Jedi Task Force in their pursuit of a Sith Lord. Palpatine, thinking that Count Dooku, his own Sith apprentice, was the one being hunted, encouraged Skywalker to assist in bringing Dooku to justice. However, Skywalker disclosed that the Jedi were not after Dooku, but rather the Sith Lord whom Obi-Wan Kenobi had slayed on Naboo, Darth Maul.
Palpatine was shocked to hear that his former apprentice was still alive. After a moment of silence, Palpatine told Skywalker that he found it difficult to believe Maul had survived Kenobi's deadly attack. Skywalker, agreeing with the Chancellor, continued by explaining that the Sith depend on their anger and do not consider death to be a final conclusion.
The garden was positioned on a balcony on the upper stories of the Senate Executive Building. A railing of average height surrounded the balcony on all sides. As it was an open-air space, the numerous space lanes that crisscrossed Coruscant were visible. The garden's size allowed people to move around the statues without difficulty.
The statues themselves depicted unidentified humanoid figures carved from stone, each standing on the rock from which it was created. Two of the figures seemed to be wearing head coverings; one appeared to be a warrior holding a staff in his right hand, while the other was kneeling with his right arm extended, holding a skull in his hand. A third figure was cloaked and leaned on a long staff.
