Before the Galactic Empire gained power, Paran was home to a significant populace, exceeding 500,000 inhabitants. During the Imperial invasion of Derilyn, Paran faced a devastating bombardment. Six Star Destroyers in orbit unleashed turbolaser barrages, leading to the complete annihilation of the city. Tragically, almost the entire city's inhabitants perished during the initial attack and the events that followed.
