Synopsis

Hosting Duties

The episode commences with Wicket along with Teebo fast asleep, recovering from one of Kneesaa's social gatherings. As her friends begin to doze off, Kneesaa extends an invitation for them to admire her assemblage of acorn, but they are too weary to oblige. Kneesaa voices her discontent regarding the lackluster success of her party. Her father, Chief Chirpa, inquires about the party's progress. Upon hearing Kneesaa's expressed frustration, Chirpa surmises that his daughter may not yet be prepared for a particular responsibility he has contemplated for her. He then reveals his impending brief journey the following day and advises her to anticipate the arrival of Prince Delby before his return.

Latara becomes visibly thrilled upon learning of the Prince's impending visit. Given Kneesaa's future role as Chief, Chirpa desires for her to organize a welcoming celebration. Despite Kneesaa's apprehension, Latara exudes enthusiasm, asserting that Kneesaa will orchestrate the most exceptional welcoming party that Bright Tree Village has ever witnessed. Latara extends her assistance to Kneesaa and promptly begins assigning tasks. She designates Wicket as the head of party promotion and appoints Teebo as the director of entertainment.

Latara eagerly offers her services to transform Kneesaa into the quintessential hostess by adorning her in an extravagant attire. Kneesaa contemplates showcasing her acorn collection to the prince, but Latara believes that the prince would find it uninteresting. Simultaneously, Wicket, aided by the bordok named Baga, commences the task of affixing posters to trees. These posters capture the attention of various forest creatures, a sentient tree, and a pair of uncouth humanoids known as the Pugs, who express anticipation for the prospect of attractive Ewoks, music, and opportunities for destruction. They swiftly depart on their vrooms to disseminate the news to their comrades.

Uninvited Guests: The Pugs

Later that evening, the Ewoks diligently prepare lanterns, tables, and dance routines. Latara expresses her annoyance with Teebo's decision to enlist a wokling musical ensemble. Teebo respectfully disagrees. Anxious, Kneesaa emerges from the tent and confides in Latara that she feels absurd. Latara assures her that she looks magnificent, while Wicket questions her choice of droids.

At that moment, a band of Pugs riding vrooms unexpectedly crashes Kneesaa and Latara's party intended for Prince Delby. Initially, the Ewoks mistakenly identify the newcomers as Prince Delby and his retinue. Kneesaa extends a greeting to the Pugs, but their leader and his cohorts mock her. He demands to know the location of the food before rudely slapping her on the back, causing Kneesaa to lose her balance. The Pugs commence devouring the food with great voracity, much to the dismay of Master Logray, who offers an apology for Chief Chirpa's absence.

The Pugs demand musical entertainment. Teebo directs the wokling band, who commence playing drums. The large-sized Pugs make the Ewoks feel uneasy, jostling into some of them. Wicket informs Kneesaa and Latara that these guests do not appear to be of royal descent. Kneesaa resolves to search her father's hut for information regarding Prince Delby. Inside, she discovers three Pugs ransacking her family's dwelling. Upon denouncing them as common thieves, two of them abduct her and confine her within a duffle bag.

Kneesaa's Rescue

The gang subsequently departs. A furry rodent informs the Ewoks that the guests do not resemble princes. Latara attempts to salvage the situation by asserting that the party was a resounding success. The rodent reveals to the Ewoks that their guests were the notorious Vroom gang, the most malevolent in the forest. The Pugs speed off into the forest as Kneesaa cries out for assistance. Wicket and the others realize her disappearance and set off in pursuit.

Kneesaa implores the Pugs to release her, but their leader asserts that her rightful place is with them. Wicket, Latara, and Teebo give chase in a wagon pulled by Baga. They navigate through the Pugs' formation, but their leader spots them. Wicket manages to untie Kneesaa, allowing her to jump free. The Ewoks then proceed to reclaim their stolen possessions from the Pugs. Kneesaa employs a lasso to secure a rucksack. The Ewoks then make their escape down an intersecting path in the forest.

The Pugs' leader commands his gang to pursue them, but the Pugs inadvertently collide with each other. The Pugs persist in their pursuit. Meanwhile, Baga and the Ewoks crash into a rock, causing the wagon to overturn. With the Pugs closing in, Wicket utilizes a party cape to create an improvised message, which he posts on a rock. Misled into believing that there is another party, the Pugs ride away. Wicket explains that he informed them of a large party at the Dulok Swamp.

A Shared Passion

As dawn breaks, Wicket guides the Ewoks back to Bright Tree Village. Upon returning home, Kneesaa is disheartened by the disarray left behind by the Pugs. Latara suggests that Kneesaa change into her party attire. Kneesaa decides against altering her appearance and resolves to remain true to herself. Kneesaa is greeted by Chief Chirpa, who introduces his daughter to Prince Delby. Kneesaa curtsies as Chirpa explains that he encountered the prince on his journey home.

Prince Delby apologizes for his absence from Kneesaa's party, explaining that he stopped along the way to acquire new additions for his acorn collection. Kneesaa is overjoyed to discover that Delby also collects acorns and volunteers to show him her collection. The furry rodent sounds a party horn before waving his paws in the air.
