Phrik metal mine

The phrik metal mine, where the rare metallic substance phrik was extracted, refined, and purified, sat on the northern border of the Jundland Wastes on the planet of Tatooine. Its location was designated as quadrant one on the Tatooine navigation system. Overseeing operations at the mine was the chief administrator droid, known as F-TO.

History

During the Galactic Civil War, an Imperial Assassin Droid of an older make sabotaged the mine's reactor. However, a Rebel droid builder, disguised as a Jawa, swiftly reprogrammed a droid to fix the reactor. The assassin droid tried to stop the Rebel droid from completing the repairs, but the droid defended itself by launching the assassin droid into the mine's main furnace.

Features

The phrik mine, situated deep within an expansive cavern beneath the surface of Tatooine, possessed several important characteristics. Phrik metal is known for its ability to withstand repeated strikes from a lightsaber.

Generator

The mine's fusion reactor.

A laser-powered fusion reactor, composed of three platforms, provided power to the mine. Each of these platforms contained a generator that continuously projected three lasers onto a mirror, which then reflected the beams into the reactor itself. Control baffle plates were installed on the platforms, enabling the lasers to be blocked, thus allowing for the reactor to be shut down when needed.

Mass Lancher

The mass lancher.

A mass launcher propelled surplus metal into the mine's large furnace. A control room monitored the launcher, and it could be used to summon objects to the launcher utilizing an electro-magnetic tram. The power levels and trajectory angle of the launcher could be adjusted using the controls located on its side.
