Pictograph

The Aaris civilization, rather than employing a written language, utilized pictographs that produced sound to document their historical narrative; you can read more about them here. Each pictograph took the form of a square bas-relief affixed to a wall, and upon being touched, would generate sounds. These sounds were directly related to the Aaris' spoken tongue, reflecting the strong oral tradition of this culture.
