Plaan, a Weequay of the male gender, held the position of security chief on Tholatin in the year 25 ABY. Subsequently, he served as the first mate of the vessel Sweet Surprise. During this time, he crossed paths with Han and Leia Organa Solo at Nova Station, as they were seeking an individual to transport refugees to Coruscant. Plaan did proceed to Coruscant for the purpose of delivering refugees; however, the Sweet Surprise also contained a minimum of four voxyn. Ultimately, before their release on Coruscant, Han and Leia Solo, aided by [Rogue Squadron](/article/rogue_s squadron/legends), managed to seize the voxyn.
