Pondo, a combatant from the Ewok species, resided in Bright Tree Village which was situated on the forest moon Endor. While still in his youthful years, Pondo joined Chief Chirpa, along with Warok, and other fighters to hunt a creature that, as claimed by a Dulok named Vulgarr, had abducted the wokling known as Malani. Their search led them only to a Dulok who called himself king, Ulgo, revealing that they had fallen for a deception. Subsequently, they located Vulgarr and his Duloks, launched an assault, and successfully rescued the woklings that the Duloks had imprisoned.
